Scottish Fisheries Museum

Situated in a wonderful collection of historic buildings on the harbour of Anstruther, The Scottish Fisheries Museum is one of the largest museums Fife has to offer with a vast collection. As well as the spectacle the museum has to offer, we also have a gift shop with a vast range of choice and a tearoom that serves delicious food right through from our amazing lunch menus and home made cakes, which go down nicely with whatever hot drink takes your fancy.

Our collections are truly inspiring, allowing us to show you wonderful examples of historic fishing boats and illustrating the geography and social structures of our fishing communities. Marvel at their ways of life, skills, customs, dress, creativity and resilience, and learn of the various circumstances, environmental, technological, political and commercial, which had and still continue to have such an impact upon them. We also run events throughout the year and have temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
