Inspired by observations and impressions of specific places experienced, I aim to convey my interest in the natural environment and particularly in birds, in my paintings. My work often attempts to tell a story or record a moment in time. I have been lucky to have lived and worked in several wild and beautiful places around the UK including the Highlands of Scotland, Gloucestershire, Mid Wales and the Norfolk fens. My husband is a bird ecologist, so we have migrated between bird hotspots. I am now based in the East Neuk of Fife, near St Andrews where I paint harbours, beach scenes and the coastal path.
I have exhibited in exhibitions around Scotland. I have been an artist in residence for a school, a pub, a walled garden and a bird observatory. In 2016 I was Artist in Residence at the RZSS Highland Wildlife Park, and in 2019, Artist in Residence at Cambo Gardens, Kingsbarns in Fife. I was awarded a Creative Scotland/Scottish Natural Heritage project; ‘Imagining Natural Scotland’ in 2013/14 and I took part in the first Findhorn Bay Arts Festival in 2014. I am is a member of the East Neuk Open Studios group and exhibit at The Pittenweem Art Festival. I’m very grateful to have a number of regular collectors both in the Uk and overseas. I sell originals, mounted giclee prints, calendars and packs of cards online if you would like to get in touch.
