Kilconquhar is a pretty village just north of Elie in the East Neuk of Fife.

Winner of ‘Best Wee Village in Fife and Scotland’ in 2011, Kilconquhar dates as far back as the 12th century.

The village lies next to Kilconquhar Loch, where it is said suspected witches were once drowned. Today you can spot a variety of birds and wildfowl here, in addition to the plants, insects and birds found at the Scottish Wildlife Trust Barnyards Marsh.

Kilconquhar Castle Estate is one of the village’s most popular attractions
